Each Christmas, Manning Transfer, along with our employees, drivers, owner-operators, and friends, participates in the Minnesota Trucking Association’s annual Trucks & Toys gift drive. The goal of Trucks & Toys is to create joy by connecting children in need at local MN charities with gifts provided by trucking industry professionals. One hundred percent of monetary donations is used to purchase gifts for children during the Christmas season.
Our goal this season is to provide the kids of Quincy House with a once-in-a-lifetime experience, rather than a material present. We have the opportunity to give the gift of a weekend retreat to Wisconsin Dells, where the kids will experience daily prayer, learning, inspiration, fellowship, and lots of much-needed fun. We’re hopeful that the memories and joy of this experience will long outlast the thrill of unwrapping a gift.
Each year, Manning exclusively sponsors a local MN charity and provides gifts for the children that that organization serves. This year, we have partnered with Quincy House, a Mounds View non-profit serving underprivileged youth. These kids are dealing with things no child should ever have to worry about, such as homelessness, depression, gender identity, self-harm, truancy, and hopelessness. Quincy’s mission is to transform lives by empowering these kids to discover a relationship with God, build faith in other people, develop practical life skills, and have hope for their futures.
The all-in cost to send all of Quincy’s kids on this retreat is $4,000. This includes all expenses, including providing a motivational speaker to attend the retreat. This is an ambitious goal, one we’d like to help Quincy achieve as much as possible. Every bit helps. We invite our friends and family to participate in delivering this Christmas wish to the kids of Quincy House.
