Manning has been a family-owned company since its inception. Born of hard work and common-sense values, we have grown from a small home-based operation to an interstate carrier operating throughout 48 states. Our continued success is owed to the countless dedicated and talented staff and drivers that have been the lifeblood of the company for the last 50 years.
- 1970, May – Mike Sr. and Kathy Manning began Manning Ice Company as a sole proprietorship. Their main source of business was delivering ice to local establishments, as well as state and county fairs.
- 1971 – Mike Sr. and Kathy obtained their interstate authority to expand their unique services.
- 1976 – Manning Ice Company was sold and Mike and Kathy continued their trucking operation under Michael J. Manning d/b/a Manning Transfer.
- 1983 – At this time, Manning Transfer had 5 Owner-Operators, while operating out of their home in Coon Rapids, MN.
- 1985 – Manning made the move to their own terminal in Blaine, MN, along with 15 Owner-Operators.
- 1988 – Manning moved to our current terminal in Blaine, MN, with 25 Owner-Operators.
- 1996 – Michael J. Manning d/b/a Manning Transfer became Manning Transfer, Incorporated.
- 2004 – Manning Logistics, Inc. was founded to provide more comprehensive and flexible services.
- 2006 – Mike Manning, Jr. became President.
- 2007 – Kathy Manning passed away, leaving behind their two children and 5 grandchildren.
- 2012 – Mike Manning, Sr. passed away. Ownership was passed on to the next generation, Mike Jr. and Dawn Manning.
